"Corrected Translation"

[edit]

This was added to the article (and now removed), despite there already being a translation. I think the current translation is fine, but here it is anyway for reference/discussion etc. Madder 19:37, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

" Corrected Translation:

O fons Bandusiae splendidior uitro O Bandusian Spring, more Brilliant than glass dulci digne mero non sine floribus worthy of sweet wine not without flowers cras donaberis haedo tomorrow you will be presented with a kid cui frons turgida cornibus for whom his forehead swollen with its first horns

Fies nobilium tu quoque fontium You too will become one of the famous springs me dicente cauis impositam ilicem because of my words about the holm-oak planted on the hollowed out saxis, unde loquaces rocks, whence your babbling lymphae desiliunt tuae waters tumble down

Removal of "Discussion of the Poem"

[edit]

I intend to remove the uninspired "discussion" section, long identified as original research. I will add sections on the location of the spring and critical reception of the poem in time. Camenae (talk) 01:08, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Spring of BandusiaSpring of Bandusium – This is a procedural nomination on behalf of a new editor. They made a potentially controversial move, which I reverted, which started discussion on my talk page (transcluded below). I have no personal stake in this, but acting in an administrative capacity I figured I'd do the "legwork" for the somewhat-convoluted process of starting an RM.
