[edit]I'm not sure that including how to select the best book is encyclopedic. This seems more of someone's opinion and maybe original research. Those sections probably need to be rewritten. US centered

Factual error
[edit]"There are roughly 150 licensed sportsbooks in the United States, all located in Nevada casinos, as such operations are illegal in the other 49 states" is not true. There are four states, Nevada, Oregon, Montana, and Delaware, that offer sports betting. This needs to be fixed.

Non-idiomatic English & unclear meaning
[edit]What does "... only four states are allowed to wager legally:" mean? It makes no sense -- a state as an entity does not bet on sports. Furthermore, even if this did make sense; there is no national legislation preventing it.

- The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 makes sports betting legal in only four states. Everywhere else it is illegal. I fixed the sentence though.

Merge with Bookmaker?
[edit]This article should probably be merged with the bookmaker article which takes a slightly more international perspective that this US-specific article (and add a redirect from here to there). - Or even split that, one for the person and into this for the venue. Bookmaker also means the person who sets the odds and some of these are notable in their own right. Sportsbook lacks that confusion over meaning. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:53, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
