Merge from Los Angeles Angels (PCL)

[edit]

When a team changes its name, it's still the same team, right? Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 22:02, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

No, not in this case. With minor league teams, we create new articles when a team moves. When a team changes names but remains in a city, the article is renamed and the history is continued. Therefore, Los Angeles Angels (PCL) should remain to cover that team's history in Los Angeles, and Spokane Indians should remain to cover the team's history there. As you'll see, the Spokane franchise claims predecessor teams that overlaps with Los Angeles. No merge is needed. NatureBoyMD (talk) 02:39, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
In that case, the LA Angels article needs to be corrected, since it claims the Angels became the Indians. Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 21:05, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
That version of the Angels did become the Indians but the team history should remain separate. Spanneraol (talk) 14:45, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm closing this as not merged.  Muboshgu (talk) 16:11, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
