Touring

Josh on vocals

Okay, maybe you guys are onto something after all. I can hear backing vocals that are unmistakably a dude's and not Courtney's on the brand new single that just dropped yesterday. @Onegreatjoke: I'd happily replace them if I could think of any others. DYK is not my forte. I thought the first one was pretty good with the added context, so I'm surprised, but I'll try to comb through and see if I find any others that stick out enough to me. Most of the material in here seems like pretty routine band encyclopedia history. I'd initially think to pull something from musical style, because they are pretty unique in that regard, but I don't know how I'd present it to make it look that way in the brevity that DYK asks for. dannymusiceditor ^oops 02:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Nationality

I don't see how they qualify as Canadian when Mike is the only Canadian member and they are now based in Los Angeles.

I would have to find the specific interviews, but they are on record about:

- Courtney being an American who traveled back and forth in her life between Canada and the US. Might have Canadian citizenship, but she's natively American.

- Them leaving BC to re-base themselves in LA.

Like... we didn't say Megadeth was an American-Canadian band every time there were Canadian members, sometimes half the group. Or Dream Theater, despite having had a Canadian member for 30 some years now.

They don't even qualify for Junos. The first criteria to qualify for Junos is 50% Canadian members.

Considering Courtney's nationality, on Wikipedia, is clearly stated as American, that makes them 75% American.

So we have a Canadian band, based in LA, with 3/4 members being American. I mean, at worst they're Canadian-American, by virtue of their being created in BC and because of Mike. AlexandreBT88 (talk) 15:07, 15 November 2025 (UTC)

I am aware that this was posted two months ago, but in case anyone was to ever follow up on this and say it was a good point, let me be the one to say it is not. Nationality of a band doesn't change over time. The location of the establishment takes precedence every time. Furthermore, not that it matters, but the band's first full lineup had three Canadians in it. From what I understand, Bill and Ryan were both from British Columbia.

You even say so with your own point: we didn't say Megadeth was an American-Canadian band every time there were Canadian members, sometimes half the group. Also, they've been nominated for a Juno four times, twice with a mostly-"American" lineup. Presumably, though I'll concede this is WP:OR, the Juno board is considering Courtney a Canadian. mftp dan ^oops 14:25, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
