Lopez is not a replacement rider

[edit]

Moto2 out for Romano Fenati: Speed-Up brings in Alonso Lopez as replacement - thought I'd written about this somewhere, Readro.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 22:40, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Replacement rider is a specific status that is usually applied to a rider who is temporarily substituting for someone injured. While Lopez replaced Fenati in the team, he is not technically a replacement rider. When Lopez first appeared, he was not designated as a replacement rider on the official entry list. See here - https://resources.motogp.com/files/results/2022/FRA/Moto2/Entry.pdf. The only replacement rider for that race was Stefano Manzi, who replaced Keminth Kubo in the Master Camp team. And that's why I termed the infobox change as I did. I haven't trawled through the history to find who added replacement, but could've been a non-English first speaker.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 14:28, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, sorry. I assumed you'd made the original edit. Never mind then! Readro (talk) 15:39, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
