isn't Space Manbow a kind of Thunder Cross sequel, released only for MSX2? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nitrofurano (talkcontribs) 20:12, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, reviewing this. I review by making a list of issues I find as I read through; I'll make minor grammar edits myself.

  • Ooohh, it's a sunfish!
It all makes sense once you see the player's ship and the Manbow battleship. All thanks to Japanese advertisements. Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:47, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • 3-4 cites per sentence is overkill, you just need enough to source the info, you don't need backups if it's not controversial
That's an aspect that has stuck with me since the GA review for AirCars for the Atari Jaguar, where the reviewer told me that five sources in a sentence was overkill but a maximum of four was okay. I know it may not look pretty in hindsight but i do it to cover what the gameplay in any game entails. Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:45, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Assuming I'm seeing it correctly, it would be useful in the image caption to say that there's 2 option units attached, pointing backwards
 Done -- Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:33, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "At each stage, the direction of movement can change upwards, forwards, downwards, backwards, or diagonally" -> Each stage scrolls in different directions: upwards, forwards, downwards, backwards, or diagonally.
 Done -- Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:31, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "but uninteresting and would not have sold well had it remained in its current state." -> but uninteresting and was not expected to sell well in its current state.

  • You talk about them creating a cinematic ending, but there's no description of the ending in the Gameplay section
I know but given that Kinoshita mentions the ending song by Takenouchi, i figured i should mention it in the Development and Music sections of the article. I also do not detail the ending in the gameplay due to the game being a one-loop only affair. Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:43, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Not strictly a GA concern, but the reception is just "A said X. B said Y. C said Z.", instead of grouping like comments together by theme (see MOS:VGREC; I know that's hard with 80s games, though).
I ordered in the way that the reviews were first published. That is one aspect that i'll try with a Atari Jaguar game rewrite in the future but i don't know how that one will turn out. Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:39, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Also not required for GA, but consider for Japanese/non-English-language ref titles adding a "trans-title" parameter to give an English translation of the title, and also for the katakana/non-roman titles swapping out "title=" for "script-title=ja:" (e.g. "title=先取りおすすめゲーム: スペース・マンボウ" becomes "script-title=ja:先取りおすすめゲーム: スペース・マンボウ"), though the latter is more for machines than humans

  • No source issues found

Honestly, I've got very little here; there's things I would do differently stylistically but it's a very solid article on a subject that's at the intersection of two difficult areas (80s computer games and Japan-only games). Placing on hold for now. --PresN 14:11, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

@PresN:First pass done! Let me know what else needs to be addressed in the article. Space Manbow might be up with BattleSphere and Tempest 3000 as some of the hardest articles i had to track down specific info but given the state the article was prior to the rewrite, i think it was worth it in the end, particularly since Space Manbow was the final shoot 'em up by Konami on the MSX and one of the last releases by Konami for the MSX before ceasing their support for the platform. Alright, promoting to GA! --PresN 18:58, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
