Stub written by McDogm May 3 2005 0223 est usa. I sort of know a lot about this if anyone wants to ask. The bands involved deal with very contentious issues. Dischord's Wiki site is very good. I can vouch that these people believe in neutrality at Wiki levels.McDogm--McDogm 06:32, 3 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Combining

[edit]

We might need to rationalize the organization of the Southern Records and the Southern Studios articles. There are also factual problems in linking Southern too closely with Dischord. They are close and Southern does indeed distribute Dischord, but we are doing Southern and its founder John Loder's legacy a disservice by giving Dischord all the credit, as this stub currently tends to do. (No offense intended!) One thing that could be addressed is that Southern resulted from John's collaboration with Crass Records. Penny Rimbaud discusses this in the Guardian obituary he wrote for John. --allolex 03:44, 21 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Confusion Over Other Imprints

[edit]

Regularly see bands added to this page that have recorded for imprints which are owned by Southern (eg Latitudes particularly). My feeling is they do not belong on this page and therefore I will continue to remove them unless someone disagrees? - Savage Pink (talk) 08:41, 3 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
