It is not clear to me exactly what this article is about. If it just another name for Oceania, then a redirect might be more appropriate though I see there is already a disambiguation page South Sea. If it is going to be about the romantic (for want of a better word) view of the region as portrayed in literature and art, then that should be made clear in the lead. Over the next few weeks I'm going to be doing some work to hopefully make this article more clear, or identify if this article should be redirected/merged with other articles on Wikipedia. I agree with the comments below that this article feels somewhat directionless, so hopefully my contributions will help!
