Notability
[edit]@Ipigott: Dear Ian,
Hopefully you can help me understand why this article is being observed by user FugerCh100. The article on Dr. Sonia meets the following criteria on Wikipedia:Notability (academics):
Academics meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable. Academics meeting none of these conditions may still be notable if they meet the conditions of WP:BIO or other notability criteria. The merits of an article on the academic will depend largely on the extent to which it is verifiable. Before applying these criteria, see the General notes and Specific criteria notes sections, which follow.

6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society. - Has held the title of Rector, and is now Chancellor of Universidad Del Pacífico

@Ipigott: Dear Ian,
This page has been observed again this time by user Allan Nonymous. Despite the criteria being on the Talk page. Perhaps you can help me understand what criteria is not being met?
The citation requests reliable secondary sources independent of the topic. Are these criteria not being met? HarveyPrototype (talk) 17:47, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- @HarveyPrototype: I can only assume that the reviewer has noticed that some of the citations could be considered primary or just brief mentions although in my opinion you have included many valid secondary sources justifying notability. I think it would be useful to discuss the issue with the reviewer.--Ipigott (talk) 06:31, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you HarveyPrototype (talk) 13:05, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

- What I think should be changed:
- Remove the current “Chancellor of Universidad del Pacífico – Escuela de Negocios” designation from the infobox and opening sentence, and remove the obsolete “Message from the Chancellor” website link.
- Revise the description of Sonia Roca as the University’s sole “Founder” to indicate that she was one of the founders.
- Why it should be changed:
- The University’s current 2026 Organic Statute does not establish or recognize an office or position of Chancellor. Article 15 identifies the Rector as the University’s first executive authority, and the Derogatory Provision repeals the previous Statute. Regarding the founding, Law No. 43 and the 2016 Statute describe a collective institutional process involving the Fundación para el Desarrollo de la Cultura Empresarial, the Escuela de Negocios del Pacífico, and other promoters and founding participants.
