So if this album contains "a selection of songs originally recorded for their first eight albums" but it in fact does not contain songs originally recorded for their first two albums, then the proper wording would be either "a selection of songs originally recorded for their third through eighth albums" or "a selection of songs originally recorded for 'Number of the Beast' through 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' albums".
