Justification behind "technically a raven"

At the time of writing, in the article it is stated that the Somali crow is "technically a raven, not a crow.". This is not referenced and directly contradicts the linked article for "Raven" which states "These species do not form a single taxonomic group within the genus. There is no consistent distinction between "crows" and "ravens", common names which are assigned to different species chiefly based on their size.". Is there any justification for this line or is it a mistake? LHughes (talk) 15:52, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
