Solver

[edit]

Solver should redirect to this article, unless notability of that "Newcastle band" is proven somehow. 122.26.120.146 (talk) 01:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've recreated the Newcastle band with some references (it wasn't that difficult). This is the kind of concepts that Wikipedia excels to disambiguate, I'd never have found that Solver was also a popular Australian band using just Google (which happens to use Wikipedia as its main resource for definitions). Those disambiguation pages are extremely valuable, let's expand them where possible instead of getting rid of them. Diego (talk) 11:19, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

How is solver different from Mathematical software? Surely most mathematical software is about problem solving. I would suggest merging into that.Greenmatter (talk) 10:20, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Solver (computer science) Mathematical software . Solvers are not used to "model, analyze, or calculate" data, they explicitly address the "calculate" bit (modeling and analysis are external to the solver - although it can use them as input-output). Diego (talk) 11:58, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
