Oldest settlement in Europe??

[edit]

I came upon this article stating Solnitsata is the oldest known human settlement in Europe, from around 4700 BCE. However, I've been researching the archaeology of archaic Cyprus and know for a fact that the settlement at Khirokitia is far older.

This could, of course, mean Solnitsata is the oldest settlement in mainland Europe. However, the sources provided for this page are mostly terrible, and the ones that aren't don't mention the point in question so it's hard to say. It would be great if someone more knowledgeable in this area could clarify (and add better sources!) Fuquawi (talk) 17:26, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
