InfoBox error
[edit]The infobox was obviously copied from the Fluid Mechanics page. I don't know what sort of picture or link should go there, but vortex shedding and a link to Navier-Stokes Equation aren't right. - EndingPop (talk) 16:37, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
How is this different from Strength of Materials?
[edit]Can someone add a line explicitly denoting the relationship between Solid Mechanics and Strength of Materials? I thought these were synonymous terms, so I'm confused as to why the articles have not been merged. I think a clarification of the differences and similarities is in order if these don't get merged. - Strength of materials is more specific, as deformation is explicitly considered. ~2026-32139-02 (talk) 04:47, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
