Why Solange I?
[edit]I came to this page because I wanted to know why the case has become known as Solange I, and I find it odd that the article doesn't provide an explanation for that. If anyone who knows could edit it with this information, I'd be grateful. Lady Mismagius (talk) 16:27, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- This is for two reasons, as far as I know:
- - in order to distinguish it from the "Solange II" judgement []
- - because "So lange..." in German means "as long as..." which recalls the statement regarding the respect of of fundamental rights by EU law in both judgements of the German Constitutional Court (as you can read in the excerpts).
- I hope it helps 147.162.110.33 (talk) 13:35, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
