Can someone find data on the number of software engineers in the EU, Japan, India, etc? Or at least point to where such data can be found? Thx.

Where does the 4.4 million software developer in the US number come from?
[edit]The citations listed do not seem to contain any support for there being 4.4 million software developers in the US. Instead the BLS indicates there are only 1.6 million software developers in the US. https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes151252.htm
This seems like a large discrepancy. Is there anything to back up the larger number? 71.212.141.174 (talk) 03:57, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- I've reduced the number to what the BLS data supports... if anyone has a reference to the higher number of 4.4 I'd be curious to see where it comes from. 71.212.128.126 (talk) 08:34, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
