I seem to remember Softsoap being a Big Thing when it was first released. If nothing else, it seemed to usher in the flood of liquid hand and body soap products that exist today. I'd like to expand on this a little more sometime, but I'm not quite ready to expand on the stub that the Colgate-Palmolive article links to.
