@Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars, thank you for assessing the article. Could you clarify what made you go with Start-class? Looking at WP:CCLASS or even WP:BCLASS, I am not seeing which part of the criteria is not met. The article is fully referenced with no major gaps in its coverage; it is organized into clearly defined sections with the lead summarizing every important detail; there are no significant grammar issues as far as I can tell as a non-native speaker, nor any MOS violations; images are included where appropriate; and there's no unnecessarily complex terminology. Infoboxes are not required, and I chose not to include one as I figured it'd be too incomplete to be useful (no songwriting credits, producers, labels, etc. since this is an unreleased track). I tend to be conservative on assessments, and I rarely give anything a B because it requires a review of the sources. I'm comfortable re-assessing this one as C-class. I really wouldn't be too concerned about subjective ratings until/unless you are shooting for GA status. Thanks and happy editing. "unreleased"

In a couple of places we refer to the track as "unreleased", can we accurately say this given that it leaked? Should we perhaps replace "unreleased" with "leaked"? TarnishedPath^talk 10:18, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

I think it's standard practice to refer to such tracks as unreleased. There's various examples of leaked tracks in Category:Unreleased songs: Pissy Pamper, New Body, Watch This (Lil Uzi Vert song). These are also described as unreleased in prose.

Here's also a couple excerpts from the sources cited in this article:

• XXL: On Monday (Jan. 13), an unreleased Eminem diss track made its rounds online. The song is titled "Smack You"
• AllHipHop: Eminem fans are losing it following a spate of recent leaks from the rapper’s unreleased catalog, including an incendiary two decades old diss targeting Suge Knight and Ja Rule, titled, “Smack You,”

Is a leak considered a release though? To me personally, a release, at least in the context of music, implies an official, authorized action. So when a song is described as unreleased, what this communicates is that it has not been officially made available; it may well have leaked. I think this interpretation is fairly common (see the articles I linked above), but who knows. Maybe this would be a good topic to discuss with WikiProject Songs? If there's consensus that describing a leaked song as simply "unreleased" is not preferred or is misleading, we'd have to edit quite a few articles. Of course, the fix would be quite simple: "Smack You" is a diss track by American rapper Eminem aimed at Ja Rule and Suge Knight. Recorded c. 2003, it has never been officially released; it leaked online on January 13, 2025 ... TeoTB (talk) 13:50, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
