Removal of content

If you read them, you will see that Talk pages cannot be used as a forum, for general chat about the topic, etc. They have quite a closely defined purpose, which you need to stick to, please. History

- my guess is that the fish is slippery and it was named after someone named dick Usernahmedhfh (talk) 04:47, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- A little searching around, to see if I could add an etymology section, and I found a number of sources saying the "slippery" part comes from the fish producing slippery mucus when threatened, making it hard to keep hold of. At least one source says "dick" is a reference to the name, since it's often seen as a generic placeholder name as in "Tom, Dick and Harry." TornadoLGS (talk) 19:29, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
