I had disambiguated this in April '22 after 18 years of the tradition being presumed primary topic, and 15 years with a hatnote. In March '22, the hatnote destination received 1199 views compared to 9356 views of "Slava", which was ~13%. --Joy (talk) 07:22, 6 September 2024 (UTC)

The variations in the graphs for tradition are interesting: in the all-time monthly views for the tradition, there's clearly a regular winter spike and a regular smaller May spike in interest.

The spikes in viewership of the salute and some of the ships are clearly correlated to the recent invasion and war, the stats links are:

• All-time mass views for everything linked from Slava
• All-time mass views for everything linked from Slava (given name)
• All-time monthly comparison of most popular topics (need to use logarithmic scale to see anything)

In January '24, which is the lower end of the seasonal spike for the tradition, there was a total of 487 incoming views and 166 identified clickstreams, which went 74 tradition (~15%), 32 given name (~6.5%), 21 Ukraine see-also PTM, 15 cruiser class, 14 specific cruiser, 10 singer (listed because of mononymous use). --Joy (talk) 15:40, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Why was my correct edit "reverted"?

I added cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, whose nickname was FAMOUSLY "Slava," to this page. This edit has been "reverted" by Sadko without explanation. If it was a minor technical error, please consider that Wikipedia is supposed to be written by people who know something about the topic, NOT by people whose expertise is in Wikipedia minutia. The latter could use their time better than merely destroying the work of others.

What do you mean, "relate to the article"? It isn't an article. The heading of the page is "Slava may refer to:" and various categories follow. Imagine you were reading an article in which someone referred to a musician named Slava, without additional information. You might wonder who Slava is, and go to Wikipedia to find out. Too bad! You'll not learn that within a classical music context "Slava" often refers to the cellist Rostropovich, because someone named Sadko intentionally removed that potentially helpful information. Wikipedia cannot cite itself as a source, I am not sure if Weta is RS and Amazon is not considered a reliable source either. Nonetheless, I did some digging, and it does appear that this is his well-known nickname. Please try to add some reliable sources to the article if possible.
