Worst article ever
[edit]This article sucks. The opening few paragraphs contain errors and make no sense. Please fix. I came here to learn about the subject and have been unable to due to the terrible, terrible quality of the article. 92.232.213.188 (talk) 20:53, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Portal of Power
[edit]This is a game component that isn't notable on it's own, but is an important part of the game franchise. It would be better served merged into the main article. TKK bark ! 12:11, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
- Redirected it for lack of notability independent from the series itself. (Also it's been a month with no response.) czar · · 20:12, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Reducing excessive detail.
[edit]A lot of this article should be streamlined. In particular, the reception section goes into unnecessary detail by summarizing every game, when each game already has its own reception section on its own page. This article's reception section should only have very significant outliers.
Also, the summaries of each game need to be more consistent, with the last two probably needing to be reduced in scope. Arguably most of them have too much detail, given that full plot summaries are given on their own pages.
I intend to work on these problems when I get the time. Beastimus (talk) 04:12, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
The music section should probably be deleted.
[edit]After a fairly extensive search, I have not been able to find any sources talking about the development of the music for the series, except Reddit threads and skylanders wiki articles. Given this, and the fact that its had a request to be expanded for two full years, I'd guess that those sources don't really exist in a way we can cite. Its not really standard to have a music section in a videogame article (cause there usually isn't much to say, which is probably also the case here.)
Also, the Imaginators soundtrack thing is unsourced, and seems to be misleading, as it looks like not only did it not have original music written, it (and the previous few games) had a lot of stock music in them. But again, I can only get that from Reddit threads, and I assume they're saying it because there's music in the games that's not in the OSTs, which is not something we can cite... If we could find a legit source talking about the use of stock music in series, then it would be worth keeping, but right now its basically just the fun fact that Hans Zimmer worked on it a little. Missing Skylanders from character section
[edit]The 16 Minis from Skylanders: Trap Team.
The 8 SuperChargers counterparts (eg. Double Dare Trigger Happy).
The 11 Villain Senseis from Skylanders: Imaginators.
Today I added Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser to the article and was considering adding the missing Skylanders shown above but I decided to see if those working on this article consider these characters relevant enough to add to the article.
The mini Skylanders have the same movesets as their full-size counterpart so I understand that they might not be necessary additions to this article.
The Superchargers counterparts cannot be used in past Skylanders games unlike the series 2 3 and 4 Skylanders from prior games. I think this makes them notable enough to be included since the games treat these characters as new characters and not as simple upgrades from their core Skylander counterpart.
Some of the Villain Senseis are already in the Villans section of the article but I still think it would be worth it too add all the Villan Senseis to the Senseis portion of the article. ProfessionalLebronGlazer (talk) 21:12, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
