Proposed move
[edit]Six-red World Championship –> 888sport.com Six-red World Championship
Sangsom Six-red World Championship –> Six-red World Championship
Most readers when searching for the "six red world championship" will presumably be searching for the current tournament rather than the defunct one. Betty Logan (talk) 10:42, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Wait Very tricky. I think we should wait a little. I mean this tournament changed the name every year since its establishment in 2008. If this years championship is also called "Six-red World Championship", then would support the move. Armbrust WrestleMania XXVII Undertaker 19–0 11:53, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- On the second thought, I don't think a page for "888sport.com Six-red World Championship" is needed. I mean it doesn't makes sense, to have a summary article for a tournament which was only held once, if that years event has an article. Armbrust WrestleMania XXVII Undertaker 19–0 20:43, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- We could make Six-red World Championship into a redirect to this article, and perhaps add a disambiguation hatnote for the 2009 Six-red World Championship to this article. If this tournament doesn't change its name again then we could move it to Six-red World Championship. Betty Logan (talk) 20:55, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nominated Six-red World Championship for deletion there. Armbrust WrestleMania XXVII Undertaker 19–0 21:09, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- So why not include the 2009 event here? That was a Six-red World Championship too.46.139.93.230 (talk) 13:39, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
- Because that's an unrelated event, which just had the same name as this one. Armbrust The Homunculus 02:41, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- Not unrelated, it was the Six-red World Championship. Rename the page to "tournament in Thailand that was sometimes the Six-red World Championship, sometimes not" if you think that way. Otherwise the Six-red World Championship page should include the Six-red World Championship. 2A01:36D:118:488A:45BD:FB8B:CEC6:91CC (talk) 19:28, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

- We definitely shouldn't be disambiguating by sponsor. It should be done by year. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:35, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- This is a 13-year-old discussion, unless I'm missing something. The sponsors' names were removed from the page article names. Betty Logan (talk) 10:27, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't realise this was stale (this is so stale it's clinically dead). I just got the message about the IP making a comment and mistook it. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:35, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Time to sort it out after 13 years then and include the Six-red World Championship on the Six-red World Championship page. 2A01:36D:118:A846:B804:8EC3:3BC2:9969 (talk) 17:57, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Missing 2009 Six Red World Championship
[edit]Hello, I noticed that the 2009 Six Red World Championship is missing, when Mark Davis won the title. Probably because there was another Six Red tournament in the same year in July called Six Red World Grand Prix, which was won by Jimmy White. The one that Mark Davis won in 2009, took place in December. There's already a Wiki page about that tournament by the way, it just needs to be added here. Also, please fix it so it says Mark Davis played in 3 finals and won all 3 of them. Thank you. Here's the source link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Six-red_World_Championship Shocker93 (talk) 01:44, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- The tournament is not missing. As explained in the article, the 2009 event was a different event. It would not be appropriate to add it here because Mark Davis did not win this event in 2009, Jimmy White did. Betty Logan (talk) 03:06, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
