The result of the move request was: moved. (Very) rough consensus to move. After two relists there has been minimal participation, with one supporting the move and one opposing it.

• @162 etc.: Given there was a series of moves and reversions in 2021 (though not to this name), I would tend to think this would be potentially controversial and need an RM. E.g., Oknazevad said in 2021 that "Class A" was the most common name in sources (when reverting a move to apparently then-official Class Low-A). Also, this edit to the article was not a minor edit.   It's a bit questionable, because the article is about the entire history of the classification (which used to be the highest class) not just the current version (where it's the lowest). I think it's six of one half a dozen of the other so long as redirects exist. (And redirects are WP:NOTBROKEN, after all).

  But that's just my personal opinion, and considering the history, I do think an RM is needed. oknazevad (talk) 09:15, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

• Oppose move - I think the page's title should reflect the entire history of the classification & therefore stay as Class A. Hatman31 (talk) 18:13, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

  That would contradict WP:NAMECHANGES: "If the reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name, Wikipedia should follow suit and change relevant titles to match." MiLB and independent, reliable secondary sources now use "Single-A". 162 etc. (talk) 00:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
