Origin of Memons
[edit]The Memon article lists some of the theories regarding the origin of Memons. If the material in this article is relevant to all Memons then it should be integrated into that article. 168.209.98.35 03:00, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Sindhi Memon and Deeplai Memon are two different types of memon and should be kept separate.

Deeplai Memons
[edit]In my view Deeplai memons are not a separate branch of Memons, it is a sub-group of Sindhi Memons, other Sindhi memons sub-group includes Jumani, Yousefani and Bachani. Deeplai are Sindhi memons from Deeplo, a village in the Thar desert.
In my view, The Memons could be indentified within three main branches
- Memons from Kathiawar (Kathiawadi) includes Halai, Okhai etc.
- Kutchi Memons ( Kachchh – Kutch a district of State of Gujrat – formerly part of Bombay )
- Sindhi Memons ( a province of present day Pakistan formerly part of Bombay)
Memons also include certain Kathri,Tharati, Nasarpuria --Siddique Katiya 10:40, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
