Article fails to mention Sheikh's 4 year ALP membership and subsequent attempt to deflect and minimize that connection. See following newspaper articles:

GetUp! connection

I removed the following paragraph as a case of WP:RECENTISM. I fail to see how it would be relevant given that it's about "an organisation that exists on paper but not in the real world. It doesn't have any money, any employees or has never done anything." and the erroneous references have been immediately removed . --ELEKHH^T 23:52, 2 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

During the run-up to the 2013 federal election, GetUp! confirmed that Sheikh was the sole director and secretary of a wholly owned GetUp! subsidiary. Sheikh who had repeatedly denied any links to the organisation since becoming a candidate, said it was simply a paperwork error.^[1]^[2]
