Edit request: updates to recent career and education (COI disclosure)

I am posting this request in accordance with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. I am the subject of this article. I am requesting that an independent editor review and, if appropriate, implement the following sourced updates, which add recent career developments not currently covered in the article. I can also help to provide all necessary sources required to remove any outstanding issues.

1. Lead sentence Current: “Simon Busuttil MOM (born 20 March 1969) is a Maltese politician and lawyer who last served as the Secretary General of the EPP Group (European People’s Party) in the European Parliament from 2020 until 2024.” Proposed: “Simon Busuttil MOM (born 20 March 1969) is a Maltese politician, lawyer, and civil servant who currently serves as a Director within the European Parliament’s administration. 4. New paragraph after the Secretary-General/Bensouag sentence “Following the end of his term as Secretary-General, Busuttil briefly served as principal advisor to EPP Group leader Manfred Weber. On 8 October 2025, he was appointed Director within the European Parliament’s permanent administration, in the Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC), where he is responsible for operational planning. He reports to one of the Parliament’s sixteen Directors-General, who in turn report to Secretary-General Alessandro Chiocchetti. New paragraph: Article 255 TFEU panel (currently absent from the article) “From 1 March 2018 to 28 February 2022, Busuttil served as the European Parliament’s nominee on the panel established under Article 255 TFEU, the seven-member body — composed of former judges of the EU courts, members of national supreme courts, and lawyers of recognised competence — that gives opinions on the suitability of candidates for judicial appointment to the Court of Justice and General Court. 6. New addition: PhD “In 2026, Busuttil completed a PhD in Law at the University of Malta’s Faculty of Laws, Department of European and Comparative Law.
