Seeking expert
[edit]After copyediting this article I tagged it for an expert to look it over. In particular I think the Applications section needs someone who knows about these things (particularly with good refs), as that was rather hard to follow in places, and I'd like to be more sure that the correct terminology is being used. Animation seems to suggest "XOR" gate, not "OR".
[edit]Everything I've found in my quick study of shuttle valves suggests they are OR gates, such that if A, B, or A+B are flowing, then output flows. However, the animation may suggest that A+B is a "no flow" state. If A and B are equally pressurized, then the ball will sit centered, blocking the flow.
Perhaps this isn't easy to show in an animation, and I just have to accept that it's designed in such a way to act as an OR gate despite the appearances a conceptual cutaway has, but I wanted to share this in case it inspires someone in the future. IndigoHatter (talk) 22:02, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
