[edit]

I created this article in August 2023 as part of a "personal interest" investigation into what had happened to the contents of Shirburn Castle since they were dispersed from around 2004 onwards; this item proved quite difficult to trace since its fate was not mentioned in any contemporary newspaper accounts. Having never seen the original work, I have based this account purely on internet sources plus the 1907 transcript by Andrew Clark and later print discussion. If anyone more knowledgeable than myself on this particular subject or item is able to contribute further, please feel free.
