Comparing lossless video codecs

[edit]

The original page had a note about the compression quality of Apple Computer's Animation codec. This is bogus; it says nothing about the quality of SheerVideo that another codec not designed to compress live-action does so poorly. If you look at the homepage linked from [[[Huffyuv]], it too claims over a 2:1 compression ratio in lossless mode, making SheerVideo suddenly look not so impressive. Adding this to the article might be WP:OR, but let's keep the page honest.--Prosfilaes 04:01, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

AVI Codecs

[edit]

There is no such thing as an "AVI" codec, the article should refer to "Video for Windows" codecs. These may be used to encode and decode streams in an AVI container, as can DirectShow based codecs, for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.203.104.2 (talk) 21:21, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
