Master shafter

I don't remember the show with complete clarity, but I'm pretty certain the entire bit about the "Master Shafter" is completely made up. I'm going to remove it anyway; it can always be put back if I'm wrong (though it seems far too stupid to be true - even in this show). --PaulTaylor 21:54, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

• Well, I didn't expect to see it again, but the "Master Shafter" bit is back, albeit this time more believably attributed to the Australian version, which I haven't seen (for obvious reasons). Is it really true? It just sounds so daft. In either case, "...and were always shafting him or her first for being seen as a greedy, deceptive person" isn't really the right sort of tone and should probably be altered.--PaulTaylor 00:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

There is a similar version of this game that is played in the netherlands and the usa.

Prisoner's Dilemma

I'm not so sure that "Share or Shaft" is as much a Prisoner's Dilemma as it is a game of Chicken. Needs deleting

Not a single part of this article is correctly cited and the refernce given mentions two lines about the show: "More recently, Robert Kilroy Silk descended into TV mediocrity in 2001 as the host of Shafted, which revolved around whether two contestants could trust each other enough to share the proceeds of a jackpot." Nature of incomplete questions.

From memory, I think the questions often had deliberately misleading openings. For example, with the opening part "Prince William...", after bets are placed it's revealed to be about Prince William Sound the place, not the royal. Words could even be split, "Which muscle..." being completed to a question about a "muscleman actor". I have no citation for this though, and it might have been a different show pulling the trick. 94.194.66.92 (talk) 09:59, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Dropped after 4 episodes

I never watched it so not aware, why was it cancelled, viewing figures, mocking from the press etc.? Middle More Rider (talk) 18:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

It certainly got mentioned on Have I Got News for You, where a clip of Kilroy-Silk saying "it's time to decide whether to share or to shaft" was frequently shown. IIRC it was mainly to poke fun at Kilroy-Silk. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:24, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
