Robert Elsie

[edit]

Robert Elsie once again shows himself as an unreliable source. The Vulnetari were formed in 1941, the Kombetari in late 1942. Polluzha commanded attacks on northern Kosovo in 1941, with the Vulnetari and gendarmerie. Elsie says he was initially a Kombetar, and then formed a volunteer band in 1943.--Zoupan 18:59, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Request for Neutrality in Lead Section.

[edit]

I recommend changes to the intro so that the most recent historiography can be taken into account when considering lead section on Polluzha. A designation of Polluzha as a "Nazi collaborator", oversimplifies the context for the details of what occurred in 1944-1945. In addition to the actions of the Partisans against the Albanian people, which can be found on pages 310-312 in the book by Noel Malcolm "Kosovo", there were many factors that contributed to Polluzha's uprising against the Yugoslav Partisan forces in Drenica. In addition to leading an uprising against the Partisans, Polluzha has been awarded the title of Hero of Kosovo by the Republic of Kosovo (2012/2020).

Proposed change to the lead - replace the sentence "Polluzha was a Kosovo Albanian military leader and a Nazi collaborator." with "Polluzha was a Kosovo Albanian military leader; he was part of the Axis aligned administration but is best known for leading the Drenica uprising against the Yugoslav Forces in 1945 and for being designated a National Hero of Kosovo.
