My maiden name is Sevec I have not much knowledge of my grandfather Anthony Joseph Sevec Sr. Side I do have a photo my grandmother let me take of the family crest. But it's to blurry to real. The surname is probably not related to or connected with this village name. The surname Sevec is probably profession-based (sevec 'sower'), but it may also be based on a ornithonym (bird name), like many other Slovenian surnames (sevec 'skylark'; 'curlew').
