Repetitions

[edit]

There is a repetition: "The closely set ears are black on the back with a horizontal white band;" and "ears [...] black on the back with a white horizontal band in the middle". --NGC 54 (talk | contribs) 22:02, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also here, at melanism: "Melanistic servals are also known" and "Both leucistic and melanistic servals have been observed in captivity. In addition, the melanistic variant has been seen in the wild, but these occurrences are rare". --NGC 54 (talk | contribs) 22:30, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Cerval spelling

[edit]

I don't know how to do this, but it would be helpful if this Wikipedia article could be pointed to by the alternate (Portuguese) spelling "cerval". Bhami (talk) 05:45, 9 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Since this is the English Wikipedia, we'd need evidence that that spelling is commonly used by English speakers, which I haven't been able to find. For that matter, even the Portuguese Wikipedia doesn't list it as an alternate spelling, instead claiming that it refers to a different animal entirely... Serval caracal hybrid?

[edit]

There's a section on this page for hybrids but only has domestic cat serval hybrids listed. There has been serval caracal hybrids, Wikipedia literally has a page on it, I don't see why they shouldn't be mentioned ~2026-11872-3 (talk) 17:01, 6 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
