Notability

[edit]

Thanks @Alexandra Goncharik for your helpful and considered comment. On balance I agree the draft is now "unlikely to be deleted in mainspace” (see WP:AFCR), and meets WP:NCORP. Accordingly, I am happy to accept it into mainspace, and have done so. Cabrils (talk) 00:01, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you too, @Cabrils, for your feedback and for reviewing the article! I just added the company logo to the infobox. And this is my last direct edit. Any future changes will be made via edit requests here, as required for COI editors. Alexandra Goncharik -sms- 16:16, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment: I am taking over work on this article from the previous author (User:Sdigitalwebteam / ~2025-37708-14), analyzing the sources myself, and rewriting the content from scratch.

    WP:THREE:
    (1) Reuters (2021) – fully independent and reliable, sourced to insiders, brief, but contains enough facts to create a company stub.

    (2) Der Treasurer (2025) — in-depth feature story with the company history, portfolio and strategy (I focused on the journalist's conclusions and disregarded CEO quotes and company-provided data).

    (3) Unquote (2021) was triggered by a routine corporate event (the Hg stake acquisition), but it does its own reporting to present the inside story of the deal.

Two of three sources are trade publications, and there is a presumption against them. WP:TRADES says that "leading trade magazines may be used where independence is clear". Judging by third-party assessments of both publications, they can be considered "leading": Unquote (part of ION Analytics) for the European private equity industry and Der Treasurer (a print and digital magazine, belongs to FAZ) for financial executives in the German-speaking region.

Due to the nature of the fintech niche, lots of Wikipedia articles about companies in this sector rely on trade media. But, of course, I need a second opinion to understand to what extent we should “exercise caution” when establishing notability with these particular trade publications per WP:TRADES. • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:NCORP) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As other reviewers have noted, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. In short, "notability" requires reliable sources about the subject, rather than by the subject.
Please note that many of the references would appear to be from sources that are NOT considered reliable for establishing notability and should be removed (including blogs, company websites, press releases, X/Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify etc).
Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a promotional advertorial (see WP:PROMO and WP:EXCESSDETAIL), which Wikipedia is not.
The draft does not appear to show that the subject has any notability beyond the average coverage in trade publications for similar corporations (see WP:ROTM).
Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest. Please note that if you have not already done so, you must also declare your COI on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please see WP:COI and/or WP:PAID). Given the conflict, the review of the page needs to be handled with care, mindful of the higher bar set by pages produced in circumstances of conflict of interest. Such pages typically may read too much like a promotional CV or advertorial (see WP:PROMO), which Wikipedia is not; and/or contain prose that is not of a standard appropriate for an encyclopaedia (also see WP:PEACOCK and WP:NPV).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page.
Note that since the draft was previously declined, you made practically no amendments before resubmitting again. To avoid further disappointment, please do NOT resubmit the draft until substantive issues raised here have been addressed.
It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NCORP criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page, including the name of the draft page, and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 06:19, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment: The substantial number of paywalls make it too difficult for me to review. My concern is that there seems to be only one truly independent source that can demonstrate corporate depth, Hamburger Abendblatt and a lot of industry publications and industry databases.
