how should the issue of his alleged name/nationality be handled on this page? it's mentioned in a single paragraph, but does this being warrant being mentioned in the opening paragraph as well, or should it wait until more information comes out about this? i saw that, which is what prompted me to mention it here. is this enough to mention in the opening paragraph/infobox, or should we wait for more to come out about this? StudentOfEtherium (talk) 19:24, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
He was born in Russia (Soviet Union at the time) and moved to Maltese around the age of 3 years old and lived in Malta until he was 12 years of age. He was known as the Russian boy as his parents were both Russian.
It's highly probable, given that the New York Times of extremely Pro-Trump and a conservative news station, that this actually DID lead somewhere, but due to pressure from the Trump administration, was quickly silenced. However, since then multiple news stations not in the US have continued to investigate. The fact is that the Maltese government CAN NOT confirm his birth, and can only confirm he immigrated to Malta from the Soviet Union to Russian parents at the age of 3. Which is still lying on a form of he was never born in Malta as he claimed on his intake form. Hourumiyamoto (talk) 06:21, 23 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

1. Could "By June 2010, he was working as Iowa representative Steve King's spokesman" be the start of a new paragraph since all of the information before that is about the 2008 presidential election while all of the information afterwards is about his work for representatives?
There is one image in the article and it is the portrait for the infobox. Sergio Gor, official portrait (2025).jpg is the official portrait for Gor as ambassador to India so it is in the public domain as a government work. I found a better link to the photo and archived it to prevent linkrot.
I found the image of Gor presenting his credentials to the president of India here. I will upload this to Commons and add it to the article.
There are 45 references in total so I will be doing a review of 5, which accounts for 11.11% of the total. Some of the references are not formatted in the same way as the others, but I can just make that minor change myself. The reference numbers are dated to this version of the page.
1. Top ‘Maltese’ Donald Trump aide actually born in Soviet Union [Reference 1] is used to source his birth date, birth location, family moving to Malta, and him attending De La Salle College. All of this is sourced in the article except for his specific date of birth being November 30. It does mention him being born in 1986, but not the specific date. His name of "Sergey Gorokhovsky" is also not in the source. You will have to find a source for both.
2. Bachmann boards campaign bus [Reference 9] is used to source him having shared responsibilities for King and Bachmann for five months. This source does not mention King and the only mention of Gor is him stating that MichelePAC will not be involved in any of the remaining congressional primaries that year. You will have to either find a new source or more likely remove this information.
Reference 9 is "Bachmann, King: Capital's obvious couple", which does mention that Gor worked for Bachmann and King at the same time: "They once shared a press spokesman (Sergio Gor) for five months in 2010, when King said he needed more help getting bookings for national media." elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him)16:16, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for correcting my error. I don't know how I made that mistake. I must have hovered over the wrong reference after typing out what reference 9 sources.
3. GOP ace to help Rand Paul [Reference 15] is used to source Gor being Paul's communications director by January 2015. This article from January 2015 does in fact state that Gor is Paul's communications director.
Point 1 is just a minor issue, but point 2 is a major issue. I will conduct a further review of another ten sources to determine the verifiability of the article.
7. Trump Names His Personnel Chief as Ambassador to India [Reference 41] is used to source Gor's appointment happening in the midst of tensions between the United States and India. This information is found in paragraph 5.
10. Panel OKs unrestricted military operations vs. ISIS [Reference 14] is used to source Gor becoming Paul's spokesman by December 2014. This information is found in the last few words before the page change.
11. Fake Twitter account angers King [Reference 7] is used to source Gor working as Steve King's spokesman by June 2010. The last paragraph in this June 2010 article does state this information.
12. Bachmann aides bail out [Reference 10] is used to source Gor resigning from Bachmann's campaign in February 2011. Paragraph two of this article from February 2011 does state this.
13. Petersburg woman takes on Rep. Forbes in primary [Reference 11] is used to source Gor being Randy Forbes' communications director by June 2012. Paragraph ten of this June 2012 article states this.
My additional review of ten sources shows no issues. This article will pass once you fix those sourcing issues in points 1 and 2 and the prose comments.
Images used in infobox and in the article were both properly uploaded to commons.
Overall:
Pass/Fail:
No major errors or issues preventing this from becoming a GA.
