calendar date

[edit]

I came across this article this morning while checking on the Eastern Orthodox saint of the day, and added a link to the saint he wrote about, Seraphim of Sarov. However, this article says this Seraphim died on December 11, and doesn't mention his liturgical feast day. Even if he was somehow sympathetic to the Old Believers, a 11 or 14 day differential (depending on the Gregorian/Julian difference in 1582 or today) would normally go the other way (Dec. 11 modern calendar would be Nov. 28 on the Julian). I don't have time to do the research, but would also be interested in having this article mention more about his arrest and trial, or the date of his canonization.Jweaver28 (talk) 20:48, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
