Birth date

[edit]

Is January 26 his Julian or Gregorian birth date? Our standards prefer Gregorian sometimes followed by Julian in parentheses (with "O.S.")... ELSchissel (talk) 13:50, 24 August 2020 (UTC) (edit: that is, for countries like Russia that were still using O.S. during the biography subject's time of birth, of course. - ES)Reply

I'd love to know the answer, but we may have to wait until further primary research is done on him. Now that his music is finally out there for all to hear, and this biography (of sorts) is available, I'm sure there will be an upsurge of interest in him. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:38, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
PS. I've put in a request @ WP:REX for his article in the Biographical Dictionary of Russian/Soviet Composers published in 1989. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:13, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've now got it, but it's extremely disappointing. Very sparse mention of his works. Unsurprisingly, the date of death is a question mark, with a supposition that this means something suspicious. Adds nothing to what we knew already. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:07, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
