I have no experience on the subject, but based on the rest of the paragraph, it sounds like it itself is what the glutamate is replaced with; i.e. where glutamate would be, the selamectin goes instead. Correct me if I'm wrong. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:02, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why is Selamectin said to be effective against certain ticks in dogs - but not cats?

Why does Selamectin have an effectiveness against certain ticks in dogs ("dog ticks") but not cats? Can this pharmacological different in action be explained in the article? The agency approval for selamectin for use in cats does not include the treatment against ticks.
