Plagiarism and re-write

[edit]

Some parts of this article currently seem to be almost identical to another source, corrosionpedia (here: https://www.corrosionpedia.com/definition/1017/segregation). I do not know if this is plagiarism, because this article could easily have come first. This article needs significant improvement, and possibly to be broken up. It needs generalization, to talk about aspects of granular matter, as ties generation well as trimming in the more in-the-weeds aspects. This will be an ongoing project.
