Merge suggestion

[edit]

The articles second unit and second unit director appear to have been written completely independently and contain duplicate information about what a second unit is. I see no reason for them not to be merged. 207.176.159.90 00:49, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Issues with the article

[edit]

There are several issues i see and will bring here for discussion or for notice before i start to resolve them:

  • A huge portion of the article is a sea of blue wlinks; i suspect many are duplicates, though i've not looked yet, and these should be reduced (MOS:OVERLINK);
  • For such a massive list of people ~ potentially many BLP subjects ~ there are almost no references;
  • There is a huge over-representation within the article of a list of second unit directors: On my screen, there is one screen actually about the subject (second unit), a further partial screen on the topic of second unit directors, and just about thirteen screens of lists of directors; in my book this is a ridiculous ratio, and the lists should be reduced;
  • In addition to the lists being reduced, it surely isn't necessary to state every film a second unit director worked on, especially if we wlink to their articles, where that information belongs.

As i say, i will start to repair these problems, but i have come here first in case anyone has a dramatically opposed point of view ~ LindsayHello 11:48, 4 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

So i have cut down the enormous lists and verbiage from the article, trying to make it about the subject (second unit) rather than a series of lists of second unit directors with a very small amount about the second unit itself. That has been reverted, so i'd like to invite TTTEMLPBrony here to discuss how we can improve the article (and, of course, anyone else's opinion is welcome, also) ~ LindsayHello 17:45, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
