(moved from article. Not sure where this should go, but it's not appropriate in this article. Rossami 23:03, 4 May 2004 (UTC))Reply

Would it be possible to turn on the search for wiki by allowing yahoo and google to place ads in the unused space below the left menu bar? Would this cause any performance problems.
The search would greatly help in integrating and compressing complex subjects. We are all stumbling around in the dark or having to hope google lists pages..
Wikipedia will not place ads on its page at any time in the forseeable future. Database searches will be reenabled once all the hardware is fixed. - Fennec 23:06, May 4, 2004 (UTC)

"Boolean Search" is listed under "Search Algorithms." However, it refers to a method of specifying search critera, not an algorithm. Should it be removed, or rearranged somehow? -Ahruman 09:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

You should add a better translator that has multiple languages to switch through. --70.236.208.160 (talk) 02:31, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Search ( searching may refer to music)

[edit]

Why does Wikipedia reference music to the word search and only music nothing more to reference a word (search)? I am querious, about it. 41.116.194.106 (talk) 18:24, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why do I get here when I typed "Search" into the search-slot?

[edit]

Why should it be the case that I arrive as this article on "Searching" when I typed "Search" into the search-slot? I should go DIRECTLY to the disambiguation-page for "Search" if "Search" is what I typed in. I should not have to weed through, when what I typed was "Search", a disambiguation-page for "Searching" as if "Searching" is what I typed when I didn't. Wikipedia is broken.2600:1700:6759:B000:105:CB95:4CA4:899B (talk) 21:16, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Christopher Lawrence SimpsonReply
