Any reason to include the Joe Tiller reference here? It seems pretty unsubstantiated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.236.13.242 (talk) 04:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shovel pass

[edit]

Why does "shovel pass" redirect here? They are not the same kind of play, as the article points out. Vidor (talk) 00:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I know football is not much for semantics and grammar, but the pass was originally called a shuffle pass, like shuffling and then dealing cards. It was the flick of the ball from the chest, like the motion of dealing a card across the table. Somewhere along the lines of the brain trust of football, somebody thought they were saying shoveling. I think Madden might have said it about someone trying to get rid of the ball underhanded while getting sacked. Anyway, the motion is that of dealing cards, not digging a hole. It just goes to show you how somebody can screw something up, and it becomes lexicon... Msjayhawk (talk) 03:22, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Risks from a screen pass

[edit]

Wouldn't another potential downside of a screen pass be that the quarterback is left vulnerable on a blitz? WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 18:22, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Redundant Sections

[edit]

The "Types" and "Types of Plays" sections cover the same material and should be combined. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ALittleSlow (talkcontribs) 01:35, 23 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
