Sexmoan

[edit]

How did it everget this name? This would be interesting!Jondel

It derived from Nahuatl. You're probably wonder why there is a place in Philippines that is in Nauhatl. It's because Pampanga recieved a lot of Mexican presence in the past. Jcdizon
Hehe never mind, I didn't know it was of native origin. I assumed it was of Mexican origin because the spelling resembles Mexico, another town in Pampanga -Jcdizon (talk) 03:24, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

For non-Filipinos and possible addition

[edit]

The name of the province used to be Sexmoan. This attracted a lot of controversy and was changed to its current form. The name is most probably Nahuatle in origin. There are many Mexican/Nahuatle words in the names and languages of the Philippines which even many filipinos are not aware of.--Jondel (talk) 09:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
