Spelling of name and material

[edit]

Both bolded forms are found locally - Cynfelin/Cynfelyn was a saint (and mutating initial c to g). A settlement and community which commemorates the same saint, a few miles to the northeast is referred to as Llancynfelyn and Llangynfelyn. Not sure it should be wholly referred to as a shingle spit as some (most?) of the material from which it is formed is unarguably larger than shingle size.
