Stella Mariis - starfish
[edit]There’s an interesting correlation between the starfish that features in A Year of Marvellous Ways and how authors in the Middle Ages “seized on the legend of the ‘starfish’. (Pliny) says this animal generates so much heat that it not only sets fire to everything it touches but also cooks its own food.
