Tag on editing - let's remove it

Hi folks,

I saw the following inaccurate note had been added to the article: "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments, a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. (June 2023)." No payments for creation or editing here. How can we get it removed?

Paid edits tag

The UPE tag has now been twice removed from this article by single purpose accounts without making any changes to the content of the article. I reviewed the revision history and, despite the claim above, undisclosed paid edits seem extremely likely. I don't have a clear path to resolution so am opening up a discussion here. Hi @Vegantics! Thanks for weighing in. I created this article, so I believe I'm qualified to state whether undisclosed paid edits were or were not made. I'm not sure who else would be more qualified than me. I'm an employee at the Inter-American Foundation. I was surprised that the incoming agency President did not have a Wikipedia page, when other people of similar notability did. So on my own initiative, I created the page. Others have since added to it, which is great. I don't understand why this has been and continues to be an issue. I appreciate you engaging. RebeccaLNelson (talk) 20:22, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi @RebeccaLNelson, It sounds like you work for Aviel but that creating this article was not part of your job responsibilities, do I understand that correctly? If so, there are certainly more accurate maintenance templates but you can understand how one assumed that WP:UPE was the best fit.

Regardless of compensation, it is against Wikipedia's policies to create an article about someone to whom you have a personal or professional connection. Because you work for the foundation that Aviel runs, you inherently have a conflict on interest. This was mentioned to you on your user talk page in August of 2022 after your Articles for Creation draft was rejected and before you self-published this article in May 2023. Hi @Vegantics thank you for finally giving me a good answer! You're correct, I didn't create the article as something related to my job. I don't know how to find my user talk page.
