Improving article neutrality and structure
[edit]Hi all,
I’m an employee of Sanford Burnham Prebys and noticed the article has been flagged for promotional tone and lack of sourcing. I’ve started making small improvements to align it more closely with Wikipedia’s guidelines—neutral language, clearer structure, and citations where appropriate.
I’m approaching this one step at a time and welcome any input or collaboration. I’ll continue to post here as I go. L1zH1ncks2025 (talk) 00:50, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Cleanup tags – request for review
[edit]Hi! I’ve made several recent edits to improve the lead and History sections of this article. Specifically, I:
Rewrote the lead to reflect a neutral, encyclopedic tone and added appropriate internal links.
Added and reused reliable citations for institutional facts.
Revised the History section to remove promotional language and improve clarity, while preserving existing references.
I believe these edits address the concerns flagged in the

tag. Would someone be willing to review and consider removing the tags? I can continue improving the article if needed.
Thanks! L1zH1ncks2025 (talk) 00:15, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Lead has been improved significantly. The history section still needs to be edited to ensure broader coverage of the topic beyond grants received by the institution. Would you mind merging the sceintific achievements and the history section in order to improve the balance of this section? Scientific achievements and grants/renaming both count as history in my opinion. Thanks! Inflamma // 发炎 (talk) 11:00, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
Article Rewrite
[edit]Hello fellow WP editors.
I've just completed a significant rewrite of the content of this article to address the subjective and promotional language and add in citations to support the content. That said, I am not a scientist and really didn't understand any of the content related to the research conducted by this Institute. If someone has that knowledge, they are far better able to update that content.
@L1zH1ncks2025 since you're an employee of Sanford Burnham Prebys, you should not be editing this article as you would have a WP:COI, or conflict of interest, which is a Wikipedia no no. If you would like changes made to the article, the proper protocol is to add them here to the Talk page, and then another editor can add them, ensuring they meet WP standards. Feel free to tag me in your post if you do. BadNewsBear (talk) 01:05, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
