Is this the same Alexander M. "Sandy" Keith who was mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas?

[edit]

The name is the same, the dates make sense, but this page says nothing about Keith having served as mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1979, if it is the same person. I did not add {{Mayors of Little Rock, Arkansas}} just to be sure. User01938 (talk) 21:46, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

That is so weird! Those names are literally identical. However, after doing some research on the "Sandy" Keith whom served as mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas in 1979, I found multiple obituaries about him from 2008. This "Sandy" Keith passed away in 2020. Also, the two men have seperate birth years. So they are different men, but regardless that is so weird! What are the chances of there being two different men named Alexander "Sandy" Keith, who were both politicians during roughly the same time period? I dont know, but its really funny. I have linked the two obituaries here-

Move to 'Alexander M. Keith'?

[edit]

I'm a bit confused why this article uses his nickname. It doesn't actually appear terribly much in official documents, except as passing mentions. Most refer to him as 'Alexander Keith', 'Alexander M. Keith', 'A.M. Keith' or sometimes 'Alexander 'Sandy' Keith'. It seems weird this article uses 'Sandy' as his first name. This is distinct I think from Rudy Perpich, who is referred to by the nickname 'Rudy' almost exclusively. Minnastronomer (talk) 08:07, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
