Sandwich bread / Pullman loaf / Pan loaf
[edit]What's the relationship between Sandwich bread (which is, allegedly, 'also referred to as pan bread') and the Pullman loaf (which is, allegedly, 'sometimes called the "sandwich loaf" or "pan bread"') and Pan loaf? Does the Pullman loaf always have a flat top? Can any sandwich bread with a flat top accurately be called a Pullman loaf? I'm not saying we need to merge, but if not, some kind of clarification should me made. -- Themightyquill (talk) 11:59, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
- Unsupported re pan bread/loaf. Mutt Lunker (talk) 14:05, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Mutt Lunker I'm not sure what you mean. Themightyquill (talk) 19:52, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- There is no supporting citation for the assertion of a connection to the pan loaf. Mutt Lunker (talk) 23:05, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

- @Mutt Lunker: There's no citation stating they are synonyms, but the definitions match completely. Did you see the "image of pan loaf" linked at the bottom of pan loaf? -- Themightyquill (talk) 06:53, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- That's arguable at best, dubious I'd say, and, to draw the conclusion, WP:SYNTH. I added the image and drawing conclusions from similarity of images, also synth and takes no account of the make-up of the items. Mutt Lunker (talk) 08:20, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
