After doing research, not sure why it's part of Chinese Australian cuisine. Entire thing is pretty much Chinese. The only thing Australian is maybe a fringe kangaroo version of the dish. I think it's just popular that people equate it as Chinese Australian despite there is no major differences between the Chinese version with Aussie version, if any. It's not re-invented in Australia but frequent mention in Oz media and widespread popularity in Australia, led it to be integrated into Australian Chinese cuisine.
